eTravel Philippines FAQ – All Your Questions Answered

The eTravel system is the Philippine government’s unified digital travel declaration platform. It collects immigration data, health declarations, and customs information from all international travelers in a single submission. It replaced the paper arrival and departure cards when it launched in December 2022.

Yes. The eTravel Pass remains mandatory for all international travelers entering and departing the Philippines as of 2026. The Bureau of Immigration has confirmed there are no plans to discontinue or modify this requirement.

The only official website is etravel.gov.ph. Do not use any other website for registration. Third-party sites that charge fees are not affiliated with the Philippine government. Report fraudulent sites to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) at cicc.gov.ph.

Yes. Registration at etravel.gov.ph is completely free. The system does not collect or require any form of payment. Any website or service charging a fee for eTravel registration is fraudulent.

The eTravel system is administered jointly by the Bureau of Immigration (BOI) and the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) at all international ports of entry and departure in the Philippines.

The following travelers must register: arriving Filipino and foreign passengers, arriving Filipino and foreign crew members, and departing Filipino passengers. Foreign nationals departing the Philippines do not need departure registration. Exemptions apply to foreign diplomats, certain visa holders, and diplomatic passport holders.

Go to etravel.gov.ph, create an account with your email, verify with OTP, enter your passport and flight details, complete the health declaration, and save your QR code. The process takes under 10 minutes. See our step-by-step registration guide for detailed instructions.

You may register within 72 hours (3 days) prior to your arrival into or departure from the Philippines. You cannot register earlier than this 72-hour window. Register before arriving at the airport to avoid delays.

No. eTravel is a web-based online platform that is mobile-responsive. You can register through any mobile or desktop internet browser. The eGovPH app is also available as an optional alternative.

Yes. eTravel is an online platform and requires an internet connection to register. However, once you have saved your QR code, you can show it offline (screenshot or printout). A stable internet connection is recommended during registration.

A green QR code means your registration data is complete and correct. You proceed through the Express Lane at immigration. A red QR code means data is incomplete, incorrect, or a health concern was flagged. You must undergo further inspection by the Bureau of Quarantine before proceeding to immigration.

Yes. You may print your eTravel QR code as a backup. Showing the QR code on your phone screen is fully accepted at Philippine airports. A printed copy is useful if your phone battery dies or you lose connectivity.

You can retrieve your QR code at etravel.gov.ph/search by entering your reference number and date of birth. You can also access it through the “Edit Registration” tab after logging into your account.

Use either QR code, but present only one during inspection. Presenting different QR codes at different checkpoints can cause delays and confusion.

Yes. As long as you have not been processed and verified by border control authorities (BOQ and Bureau of Immigration), you can change your data through the “Edit Registration” tab on the eTravel website.

If you have an existing eTravel account, you can update your details for each new trip under the “Edit Registration” tab. You must update within 72 hours before each new travel date. You do not need to create a new account for every trip.

Edit your registration through the “Edit Registration” tab to update your flight information. If you change airlines or flight numbers, update your eTravel record before your new travel date.

You need: a valid passport (number, nationality, date of birth, expiry date), flight information (airline, flight number, date), accommodation address in the Philippines, and an active email address. See our complete requirements checklist.

Yes. All foreign nationals, including US citizens, must register for eTravel before entering the Philippines. US citizens do not need departure registration. See our guide for US citizens.

Children under 15 may be registered under a parent’s or guardian’s account. Each child’s passport details must be entered individually. Children traveling alone must have an account created by a responsible adult.

Your QR code is scanned at the Bureau of Quarantine checkpoint upon arrival. Green QR code holders proceed through the Express Lane (10-30 seconds). Red QR code holders go to the Manual Process Lane for BOQ verification. Travelers without registration use on-site kiosks, causing significant delays.

Yes. Airlines verify your eTravel QR code at check-in before you board your flight to the Philippines. Have your QR code ready on your phone or printed when you arrive at the airport.

You must complete registration on-site at arrival kiosks at the airport. This is the same process as online registration but causes significant delays. You will be in the Kiosk Lane rather than the Express Lane.
